It is interesting to watch how a kitten develops within the first 12 months of his life. We hope the pictures below depict the vast changes that their small bodies undergo from month to month. You will notice that the girls have lost their kitten fluff and appear almost short haired for awhile, the tail fills out, the adult coat with ruff begins at about 8-10 months and if they do not have hormones overtaking the outward physical growth, they will soon have a luxurious flowing coat and tail. The cat's weight may determine the sexual developement, as does the birthmonth/season. Showing a female to grandchampionship is challenging with this in consideration. First she must compete with the males which puts her in the most challenging place to begin with, and then we ask them not to go into season as nature intervenes. As the males and females mature, they become the beautiful show creatures we all hope for, Providing the hormones do not take over. We will hope for slow maturation, but it is unlikely with Sugar. This girl has already cycled at 5 months of age. Her half sister Magic simply wonders what is going on, and why don't you want to play with me anymore?
